Just when I thought that we can now comminucate using words with my 2yrs + baby, shock on me. The girl seems to have periods of non-verbal communication that are punctuated with a lot of sniffling sounds meant to be communicating to me. I am yet to understand this vocabulary, but from the look of things this is not proving to be that straight forward. You think that only hungry or wet babys have a reason to be fussy? Ya right!!!
I have had to understand various variations of jealousy reactions through this non-verbal communication spats. You know, I now have another 6 month old baby and my 2yrs + one is not amused at the attention given to her brother, whom she thought was a short time visitor when he arrived. The girl was so happy to have a newly arrived baby on the day of homecoming, but this only lasted about 1 week.
Well, it is not all gloomy with her, we do have lots of good times just playing horse riding (I am the horse you know, talk of hearing from the horses mouth!!!). There are times I think my daughter has two personalities, but from the few books I have read about parenting, this is normal. I have come to understand the advice bandied around that says enjoy the good times with your baby before they become grown ups and tell you they need their space.
